The view in fall is wonderful. Plus many people in Edmonton rarely see the river valley even though it is so convenient and close to downtown. From the Leilani Muir Pedestrian Bridge there are great views of downtown Edmonton and several bedroom communities. A short walk from here allows travel to attractions such as the Louise McKinney Riverfront Park, the River Boat Queen, the Muttart Conservatory, The Shaw Conference Centre, and downtown itself with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, The Citadel, and much more. As a woman's rights activist and reformer Henrietta Louise Edwards was renowned for helping women who wanted to or needed to work. She founded both the Working Girls' Association and Women's Work in Canada. She helped found the National Council of Women and the Victorian Order of Nurses. She was realistic in her efforts as she supported endeavour such as divorce on equal grounds. In the legal sphere she wrote The Legal Status of Women in Alberta (1921) and pressed for the 1917 Dower Act.
