It’s been a lot of hard work, some sweat, some tears and lots of joy. Ok maybe no tears. Not yet anyway. The co-founders and their brilliant team have put their heart and soul into the Spinattic project and they are all finally able to cross the first major milestone.
Welcome to Spinattic! a web app for panoramic photographers to upload their panoramas, create virtual tours and customize the interfaces. Our mission is to make it easier for panoramic photographers to create stunning virtual tours. Many people are great at creating panoramas, and there are plenty of techniques and equipment to do so, but there are not many tools that give the photographer a way to create quality custom virtual tours that match the quality of their photographs. Psst… the customization option is in development right now. 🙂
Co-Founders Rebecca Smith, Ariel Micheletti and Derrick Clark have all been creating custom quality virtual tours for a combined 20 years now. They all have a passion for the industry and an appreciation for the immense changes that are coming. Rebecca Smith and Derrick Clark of Virtual Media 360 have been working with Ariel Micheletti of Ciudad Esferica for years now. Virtual media 360 has seemed to thrive in the collegiate marketplace growing a brand that is known for larger scale projects that required a custom interface. Ariel Micheletti and Ciudad Esferica work closely with Virtual Media 360 programming and designing the interfaces needed to organize and make sense of all of the content used in the virtual tour. “For some projects, we are using over 100 360° scenes in a virtual tour, all requiring special content specific to each scene such as text descriptions, thumbnail menus, videos, audio interfaces, maps and the list goes on.” says Derrick Clark, “That’s more content than some websites have“. Spinattic is the perfect solution for photographers taking on so much content, but not feeling comfortable coding.
Spinattic also welcomes other forms of virtual media in later developments. We are welcoming to all the devices, gadgets and cameras that will leverage the photographer’s arsenal. We are planning on developing for the Oculus Rift, 360 videos, and other types of panoramas.
In the works now is mainly the skin customization platform. We are hoping this will be ready to launch in the next few months. There will be fees associated with the new features, but those fees will be nominal compared to the time a photographer will spend coding themselves or paying a programmer to do it for them.
Spinattic welcomes you! If you have any feedback, suggestions, or just have a question, please contact us. You’ll see a feedback button on the right hand side of the screen, or you can find us on Facebook, Twitter and Google +.
