A summer thunderstorm drops rain across Yellowstone Lake from the Lake Butte Overlook along East Entrance Road in Yellowstone National Park. It is the largest alpine lake in North America, at an elevation of 7,732 feet. The lake is fed by smaller mountain tributaries as well as the Yellowstone River and several underwater hot springs.
