The Appalachian Clubhouse was built in 1910 by the Appalachian Club for guests and lessees before the creation of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The original building burned down and was rebuilt in 1934. After falling into disrepair, the clubhouse was rehabilitated to its 1930s appearance by the National Park Service.
