Many rendering engines offer spherical cameras - so does one of the older candidates - POV ray. Nice thing for me about POV ray is that I can use it to render structures created with Structure Synth and with the build in macro language you can create your own kind of 'random' structures.

21/03/2015And proper stereoscopic 3D - it is generated after all.
I am working on it but my computer all too often says NO and gives me the blue screen of death and not the rendered image I was expecting.
Will keep on trying.
