Before the fire of 1947, Great Hill was a well-hiked peak with at least five hiking trails. Many of the older trails were not rebuilt afterward and it is not on any official maps today, but you can still find them on older maps and it still affords an amazing view today. Charlie Widdis and I climbed it to shoot some panoramas and timelapse of sunset, hoping the sun would break through below the cloud cover, but it never exploded with color as we had hoped. This behind-the-scenes 360° panorama was taken on October 3, 2014, 5:27 PM. Camera settings: 24mm, f/8, ISO 200, 1/60 Stitching data: 3 rows of 12 photos. Finished panorama is 156MP. Equipment used: Nikon D700, Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8, Promote Control, Really Right Stuff TVC-34L tripod w/ leveling base & panorama/gimbal head. RAW conversion in Lightroom, stitched with PTGui, and blended with Photoshop.
